Terms of Service
Terms of Service
Last updated: June 20, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Decaputin, available at decaputin.com and related pages, interfaces, features, services, and content.
By accessing or using Decaputin, generating a Head, claiming a Head, listing a Head for sale, buying a Head, signing ownership, or otherwise interacting with the Interface, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Decaputin.
What Decaputin Is
Decaputin is an experimental digital art project and online interface.
The Interface allows users to generate, view, claim, collect, list, buy, sell, and interact with digital heads known as Heads.
Decaputin uses experimental mechanics involving digital images, Nostr credentials, public Nostr events, relays, Lightning invoices, sats payments, ownership records, session-based claim windows, price and value logic, uniqueness logic, milestone logic, clone logic, burn waves, survivor status, collection progression, marketplace listings, and other evolving features.
Decaputin is not a bank, broker, exchange, financial institution, investment platform, custodian, wallet provider, payment institution, or regulated financial service.
Heads are experimental digital collectibles. They are not securities, financial instruments, deposits, investment contracts, or claims against any real-world asset.
Experimental Nature
Decaputin is provided as an experimental, beta, evolving, and art-driven project.
You understand and accept that:
- the Interface may contain bugs, errors, interruptions, or unexpected behavior;
- features may change, break, disappear, return, or be discontinued;
- price, value, rarity, uniqueness, supply, burning, listing, claim, ownership, and marketplace mechanics may evolve over time;
- Nostr relays, Lightning wallets, browser extensions, remote signers, payment infrastructure, hosting providers, and other third-party services may fail or behave unpredictably;
- Decaputin may suspend, modify, restrict, or discontinue any feature at any time.
The Interface is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind.
You use Decaputin at your own risk.
Nostr Login and User Credentials
All claim, purchase, listing, sale, ownership, and marketplace actions on Decaputin require Nostr credentials.
Decaputin does not provide a traditional account system. There are no usernames, passwords, password recovery tools, email-based login flows, or internal account recovery systems.
The Interface may recognize a user through their Nostr public key, such as an npub, and related public or project ownership records.
Decaputin does not manage, store, request, or recover your Nostr private key, such as an nsec. Private keys must be managed by you through your chosen Nostr signer, browser extension, remote signer, wallet, or other compatible tool.
You are solely responsible for:
- keeping your private keys secure;
- choosing and maintaining your Nostr signer;
- preserving access to the Nostr public key associated with your Heads;
- ensuring that you can continue to log in and manage your Heads;
- understanding that loss of your private key may permanently prevent you from accessing, listing, selling, transferring, or managing your Heads through the Interface.
Decaputin cannot recover lost Nostr keys, reset credentials, restore access, change ownership records on request, or provide password-style account recovery.
Lightning Payments and Sats
Decaputin uses Lightning payments in sats.
Claims, purchases, and marketplace transactions are paid through Lightning invoices. No other payment methods or currencies are currently supported by the Interface.
To claim or buy a Head, you need a wallet that supports Lightning payments in sats.
You are solely responsible for:
- using a compatible Lightning wallet;
- reviewing invoices before payment;
- ensuring that you are paying the intended invoice;
- understanding that Lightning payments may be final, irreversible, delayed, failed, expired, or affected by third-party wallet and network issues.
Decaputin does not provide wallet services, custody, banking services, fiat payment processing, card payments, chargebacks, or payment reversal mechanisms.
Price, Value, and Floor Price
For clarity, Decaputin uses the following terms in the Interface:
- Price means the amount in sats that a user must pay to claim or buy a Head at a specific moment.
- Value means the algorithmic value assigned by Decaputin to a Head according to internal Project rules.
- Floor price means the minimum price required by the Interface for listing a Head for sale.
Price and Value are not always the same.
A Head in the basket or session area may have the lowest available Price because its Value has not yet been established or applied by the Project.
An available Head on the marketplace generally has a Price that corresponds to its Decaputin-assigned Value, unless the Interface or Project rules apply a different pricing condition.
A for-sale Head has a Price chosen by the seller, provided that the Price is not lower than the floor price required by the Interface. The seller’s Price may be higher or lower than the Decaputin-assigned Value.
Value is calculated by Decaputin’s internal algorithms and may take into account factors such as:
- trait rarity;
- whether the Head is a first edition or a clone;
- the number of circulating clones of the same Head, where applicable;
- collection progression;
- milestone status;
- survivor status;
- project-defined multipliers;
- other experimental Project mechanics.
Value is generally updated once per day, but Decaputin does not guarantee a specific update time, calculation method, formula, continuity, accuracy, or persistence.
Value is an internal Project indicator. It is not an appraisal, guarantee, market price, resale price, financial valuation, investment signal, or promise of future liquidity.
The marketplace is free. A seller may choose a Price that differs from Value, subject to floor price rules. Buyers are solely responsible for deciding whether a listed Price is acceptable.
Payment, Claim, Purchase, and Sign Ownership
A Head claim or purchase may involve two separate technical steps:
- Lightning payment: the user pays a Lightning invoice in sats.
- Sign Ownership: the user signs a Nostr event to publicly attest, confirm, or complete the ownership record or transfer record for the Head.
These two steps have different legal and technical effects.
The Lightning payment is the economic action. Once the required Lightning invoice has been paid and confirmed by the Interface, the claim, purchase, or sale is final and non-refundable, even if the later Sign Ownership step is delayed, fails, is not completed, or cannot be published to relays.
The Sign Ownership step is the public Nostr attestation step. It may generate or attempt to publish a Nostr event containing data relating to the Head, the user’s public key, the payment hash, the Head data, the ownership state, the previous owner, the new owner, and/or the transfer record.
Decaputin may require Sign Ownership in order to display, confirm, complete, or publicly evidence ownership or transfer status through the Interface.
Failure to complete Sign Ownership may limit your ability to display, prove, transfer, list, sell, or manage the Head through Decaputin.
You are solely responsible for completing the Sign Ownership step with the correct Nostr key, signer, browser extension, or remote signer.
Generated Heads and Basket Claim Window
When you generate a Head through the Interface, the generated Head may become available in your basket or session area for a limited period.
During this session-based claim window, the user who generated the Head may be able to claim that Head at a lower session Price.
A Head in the basket may have the lowest available Price because its Decaputin-assigned Value has not yet been established or applied by the Project.
This session claim opportunity is temporary and depends on session duration, cookies, browser state, project rules, availability, and technical conditions.
If the session expires, is lost, is cleared, is interrupted, or is otherwise no longer recognized by the Interface, the lower session claim opportunity may no longer be available.
Decaputin does not guarantee that a generated Head will remain available in your basket or claimable at the session Price after the session claim window ends.
Marketplace Claim of Available Heads
After the session-based claim window ends, an unclaimed Head may appear on the marketplace or elsewhere in the Interface as available.
An available Head has no user owner recognized by the Interface.
Available Heads may be claimed at a system-calculated Price determined by Decaputin’s Project rules.
For available Heads, the displayed Price generally corresponds to the Decaputin-assigned Value, unless the Interface or Project rules apply a different pricing condition.
System-calculated Value and claim Prices may be based on the factors described in the Price, Value, and Floor Price section, including trait rarity, clone status, collection progression, milestone status, survivor status, and other experimental Project mechanics.
As more Heads are collected, claim Prices and Values may increase through collection progression multipliers or other Project mechanics.
Decaputin may update, adjust, recalculate, or modify pricing and Value rules at any time for future claims.
No displayed Price or Value guarantees future pricing, rarity, resale value, liquidity, or collectibility.
Primary Claim of a Head
A primary claim may occur:
- through the basket or session flow, when the user claims a Head they have just generated; or
- through the marketplace, when the user claims an available Head with no user owner recognized by the Interface.
In both cases, the claim is triggered by payment of a Lightning invoice in sats.
Once the Lightning invoice has been paid and confirmed by the Interface, the Head may be associated internally with the user’s Nostr public key, and the claim becomes final.
After payment, the user may be required to complete the Sign Ownership step to create or attempt to publish the public Nostr ownership event.
The claim is final and non-refundable from the moment the Lightning payment is confirmed by the Interface, regardless of whether the Sign Ownership step is completed immediately, later, or not at all.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
No refunds. No cancellations. No reversals. No exchanges. No credits.
This applies even if:
- the user fails to complete Sign Ownership;
- the user loses access to their Nostr key;
- the signer, extension, relay, browser, wallet, session, or device fails;
- the public Nostr event is delayed, rejected, lost, duplicated, or not propagated;
- the Interface displays the Head as pending, paid, claim-needed, unsigned, or otherwise incomplete;
- the user changes their mind;
- the user made a mistake.
Immediate Performance and Withdrawal Rights
By claiming a Head or buying a Head through the Interface, you expressly request immediate performance of the digital service and immediate activation of the relevant digital collectible transaction.
You acknowledge that, where applicable, any right of withdrawal, cooling-off period, cancellation right, or similar right may be lost once immediate performance begins.
If mandatory law gives you non-waivable rights, those rights remain only to the minimum extent required by that law.
Burning and Available Heads
Decaputin may include burn waves and other burning mechanics.
Burning applies only to Heads that are in an available or otherwise unclaimed state according to the Interface.
A Head that has been successfully claimed by a user cannot be burned by Decaputin’s available-Head burning mechanics.
However, available Heads may be scheduled for burning at a defined time or according to Project rules.
If you attempt to claim a Head that is close to a burn wave, you do so at your own risk.
It may happen that:
- the Head is burned before your claim is completed;
- your wallet, signer, invoice, relay, browser, or session causes delay;
- the claim flow fails or times out;
- the burn wave resolves before your payment or claim is confirmed;
- the Head is no longer available by the time your action completes.
Decaputin does not guarantee that you will be able to claim a Head before a scheduled or active burn wave.
If a user successfully claims an available Head before it is burned, that Head may later be affected by Project pricing and Value mechanics, including possible survivor status or burn-related Value changes from the following daily update. No such change is guaranteed.
Marketplace and Secondary Sales
Decaputin may allow users who are recognized by the Interface as current owners of Heads to list those Heads for sale to other users.
A Head listed by an owner is considered for sale.
A for-sale Head is different from an available Head:
- an available Head has no user owner and may be claimed at a system-calculated platform Price that generally corresponds to its Decaputin-assigned Value;
- a for-sale Head has already been claimed by a user and may be purchased from that user at the seller’s chosen Price.
The Price of a for-sale Head is set by the seller, subject to the floor price required by the Interface. That seller-set Price may differ from the Decaputin-assigned Value of the Head.
Marketplace functionality is experimental and may be modified, suspended, restricted, or discontinued at any time.
Listing a Head for Sale
If you own a Head, you may be able to list it for sale through the Interface.
When listing a Head, you may choose the sale Price freely, provided that the Price is equal to or higher than the floor price or minimum listing price displayed or enforced by the Interface at that time.
The seller-set Price may be higher or lower than the Decaputin-assigned Value of the Head. Decaputin does not guarantee that any listed Price reflects Value, market demand, rarity, liquidity, or fair value.
Decaputin may define, update, calculate, enforce, or display floor prices, minimum listing prices, Values, fees, sale rules, or marketplace restrictions at any time.
By listing a Head, you confirm that:
- you intend to sell that Head at the listed Price;
- you have reviewed the Price before confirming the listing;
- the Price is not below the floor price required by the Interface;
- you understand that the sale becomes final once a buyer pays;
- you have provided a valid Lightning address for seller payout;
- you are solely responsible for the correctness of your Lightning address.
Seller Lightning Address
Seller payouts are made only to the Lightning address provided by the seller when listing the Head for sale or otherwise during the sale flow.
No other seller payout method is currently supported.
The seller is solely responsible for providing a correct, valid, active, compatible, and controlled Lightning address.
If the seller provides an incorrect, inactive, expired, incompatible, misspelled, inaccessible, or otherwise invalid Lightning address, the seller bears the entire risk of loss.
Decaputin has no obligation to:
- recover funds;
- resend funds;
- trace funds;
- duplicate a payout;
- compensate the seller;
- reverse a completed sale;
- refund the buyer;
- cancel the marketplace transaction.
A seller payout sent according to the Lightning address provided by the seller is considered fulfilled, even if the seller cannot access or receive the funds due to seller error or third-party wallet issues.
Cancelling a Listing
A seller may cancel an active listing only before the listing has been resolved by a buyer.
A listing is considered resolved when a buyer has completed the purchase flow, including payment of the Lightning invoice, or when the Interface otherwise records the sale as completed, paid, resolved, sold, or pending transfer after buyer payment.
Once a buyer has paid for the listed Head, the seller may no longer cancel, revoke, withdraw, reverse, or undo the sale.
This applies even if:
- the seller changes their mind;
- the seller entered the wrong price;
- the market price changes;
- the Head becomes more valuable;
- the seller no longer wants to sell;
- the seller entered the wrong Lightning address;
- the seller payout has not yet been sent;
- the buyer has not yet completed Sign Ownership;
- a Nostr event is delayed, fails, or does not propagate;
- there are temporary technical issues.
A completed sale is final and irreversible for both buyer and seller.
Buying a Listed Head
When you buy a Head listed by another user, you are purchasing that Head through the experimental Decaputin marketplace.
Payment is made in sats through a Lightning invoice corresponding to the seller’s requested price.
Once the buyer’s Lightning payment has been paid and confirmed by the Interface:
- the purchase is final;
- the sale is final;
- the buyer is not entitled to a refund;
- the seller may no longer cancel the sale;
- the transaction may enter a pending ownership-transfer state until the buyer completes Sign Ownership.
The buyer must complete the Sign Ownership step to transfer, confirm, or publicly attest ownership of the Head through a Nostr event.
This Nostr event may include data relating to the Head, the buyer’s public key, the payment hash, the prior owner, the new owner, and the transfer.
The buyer is solely responsible for signing with the correct Nostr key.
Failure by the buyer to complete Sign Ownership does not cancel the purchase, does not restore the seller’s right to cancel, and does not create a right to refund.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
All marketplace purchases are final. No refunds. No cancellations. No reversals. No chargebacks. No credits.
This applies even if:
- you bought the wrong Head;
- you paid the wrong invoice;
- you change your mind;
- the price changes later;
- the seller made a mistake;
- the seller entered the wrong Lightning address;
- the Head later changes status, visibility, rarity, value, or display;
- Nostr relays fail or delay publication;
- your wallet, signer, browser, relay, or device fails;
- the Interface later changes or becomes unavailable.
Finality of Completed Sales
A sale is considered completed, final, and irreversible once the buyer has paid the required Lightning invoice and the Interface has confirmed the payment.
From that moment:
- the buyer cannot cancel the purchase;
- the buyer cannot obtain a refund;
- the seller cannot cancel the sale;
- the seller cannot reclaim the listing;
- the seller cannot demand reversal because the market price changed;
- the seller cannot reverse the sale because the buyer has not yet completed Sign Ownership;
- Decaputin may process the marketplace transaction according to its internal records and Project rules.
The Sign Ownership step may still be required to complete the public Nostr transfer record, but it does not make the buyer’s payment refundable and does not make the seller’s completed sale cancellable.
A completed sale is final for both buyer and seller.
Seller Payouts and Platform Fee
When a buyer purchases a listed Head, Decaputin receives the buyer’s sats payment and processes the seller payout separately.
The seller payout will generally be calculated as:
sale Price minus the applicable platform fee.
Seller payouts are typically sent within approximately 24 hours after successful buyer payment and internal confirmation.
This timing is an estimate only. It is not guaranteed.
Decaputin may delay seller payout until the transaction has been reviewed, confirmed, and/or the required ownership-transfer steps have been completed or sufficiently verified.
Payouts may be delayed, suspended, reviewed, retried, or withheld where necessary due to:
- technical issues;
- Lightning wallet issues;
- invalid Lightning address;
- operational delays;
- abuse prevention;
- fraud prevention;
- compliance review;
- security concerns;
- system maintenance;
- force majeure;
- third-party infrastructure failures.
No interest accrues on pending seller proceeds.
By listing a Head for sale, the seller authorizes Decaputin to deduct the applicable platform fee from the gross sale proceeds before sending the seller payout.
Platform fees are final and non-refundable.
Decaputin may change its fee structure at any time for future transactions.
Transfer Records and Nostr Events
A claim, purchase, sale, listing, cancellation, ownership change, Sign Ownership action, or other marketplace action may result in one or more Nostr events, attempted Nostr events, internal records, public records, metadata updates, or display changes.
Decaputin may attempt to publish or reference Nostr events related to ownership, sale, transfer, or marketplace state.
However, Decaputin does not guarantee that any Nostr event will be:
- successfully published;
- accepted by any specific relay;
- propagated to all relays;
- indexed by third-party clients;
- permanently retained;
- displayed correctly;
- recoverable in the future.
A failed, delayed, missing, partial, duplicated, rejected, or inconsistent Nostr event does not automatically cancel, reverse, refund, or invalidate an otherwise completed Lightning payment, claim, purchase, sale, listing, payout, internal ownership record, or ownership update.
Burning, Clones, Rarity, Prices, and Project Mechanics
Decaputin may include mechanics such as:
- burning;
- clones;
- scarcity;
- rarity indicators;
- generation numbers;
- Price changes;
- Value changes;
- floor prices;
- milestone badges;
- trait availability;
- collection limits;
- marketplace status changes;
- public ownership states;
- experimental supply mechanics.
These mechanics are part of the Project and may change over time.
You acknowledge that:
- Heads may be affected by Project mechanics;
- rarity indicators may change;
- Prices may change;
- Values may change;
- floor prices may change;
- traits may become more or less common;
- visual display, metadata, and status labels may evolve;
- future changes may affect how a Head is shown, valued, described, listed, bought, sold, or understood.
No Project mechanic creates a guarantee of value, permanence, rarity, profit, future liquidity, visibility, or continued availability.
No Guarantee of Value or Liquidity
Decaputin does not guarantee that any Head will have or retain any market value.
Decaputin does not guarantee that you will be able to sell a Head, find a buyer, receive a specific price, profit from a purchase, or recover the amount paid.
Any Price, Value, floor price, rarity score, uniqueness indicator, marketplace listing, trait label, generation number, milestone, survivor status, clone status, or similar indicator is part of the experimental Project mechanics and should not be interpreted as financial advice, investment advice, appraisal, fair market value, or a promise of future value.
You should not claim, buy, or list a Head for speculative or investment reasons unless you are prepared to lose the entire amount paid.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not use Decaputin to:
- violate applicable law;
- commit fraud, abuse, spam, or market manipulation;
- bypass claim, listing, basket, pricing, anti-abuse, or marketplace rules;
- interfere with the Interface or its infrastructure;
- overload, scrape, attack, reverse engineer, or exploit the service in a harmful way;
- use stolen wallets, stolen keys, stolen funds, or unauthorized payment methods;
- attempt to manipulate ownership records, Nostr events, or payout flows;
- use Decaputin for money laundering, sanctions evasion, illegal financing, or other unlawful activity.
Decaputin may suspend, restrict, block, delay, cancel, or review access, listings, sales, payouts, or features where reasonably necessary to protect the Project, users, infrastructure, or legal compliance.
Intellectual Property
The Decaputin name, Interface, software, design, visual system, project mechanics, text, branding, logos, and related materials are owned by or licensed to Decaputin and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Claiming or buying a Head does not transfer ownership of the Decaputin brand, Interface, software, project system, marketplace, or underlying intellectual property.
Unless separate license terms are published, ownership or recognition of a Head gives you only a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to display that Head for personal, non-commercial, social, and customary digital collectible purposes.
You may not use Decaputin branding, logos, or Project materials in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership, official status, or control over the Project without permission.
